There is a moment every maker dreams of: the moment you hold, in your own hands, something that began as nothing more than an idea. We are not there yet. But for the first time since we began this journey, we can see that moment clearly ahead of us, and we wanted to bring you along for the final stretch.
We are thrilled to share that we have entered one of the most exciting phases of bringing our Bible Reading Pointer to life: we are currently finalizing contracts with several manufacturers to produce our first physical samples. Within the next month or two, God willing, we will be holding the very first samples of this piece in our own hands, right here in the Holy Land.
We wanted to take a moment to walk you through how we got here, because it has been a longer road than we ever expected, and every step of it has mattered.
How It Began
Long before there was a single technical drawing, there was simply an idea, and a desire. A longing to create something that would help believers hold scripture close, literally, a piece that would accompany quiet moments in the Word and become something families could pass down for generations. Not something mass-produced or disposable, but something built to last, something that would still be meaningful decades from now.
Step One: Pencil and Paper
Every idea has to start somewhere honest, and for us, that meant pencil and paper. Long before any software was involved, we sat down and simply began to sketch. Rough shapes. Rough proportions. Crossed-out attempts and second tries. There is something sacred about that first stage, watching an idea slowly take form through nothing more than a hand, a pencil, and patience.
Step Two: Technical Drawing
Once we had a design direction we believed in, we moved into more formal technical drawing, refining proportions, working out how the different components of the piece would actually fit and function together. This stage took time. Measurements had to make sense. Details had to be reconsidered, simplified, or reimagined entirely. It is one thing to sketch something beautiful. It is another to sketch something that can actually be built.
Step Three: Finding the Right CAD Designer
From there, we needed to translate our hand and technical drawings into fully manufacturable digital files, the kind a factory could actually work from. This meant searching for, vetting, and ultimately partnering with skilled CAD designers who could take our vision and turn it into precise, production-ready STL files. This stage required real diligence. Not every designer understood what we were trying to create, and we were not willing to compromise on getting it right.
Step Four: Finding the Right Manufacturing Partners
With finished design files in hand, we began the long process of researching, contacting, and vetting manufacturers capable of producing a piece to the standard we envisioned, one built with genuine lost-wax casting, careful hand finishing, and materials that would stand the test of time. This has meant countless conversations, careful comparison of capabilities, and no small number of negotiations to make sure that what gets made matches exactly what we designed. Quality like this cannot be rushed, and we were not willing to cut corners simply to move faster.
Where We Are Now
Today, we are finalizing agreements with several manufacturing partners to have the very first physical samples of the Bible Reading Pointer produced and shipped to us here in Israel. This is the moment months of careful work have been building toward, and honestly, we can hardly wait.
Why It Has Taken This Long
We will be honest with you: this process has taken many months, far longer than we originally expected. But we have never wanted to rush something meant to be an heirloom. Every extra week spent refining a detail, vetting a supplier more carefully, or double-checking a specification has been in service of one simple goal, creating something genuinely durable, genuinely beautiful, and genuinely worthy of being placed in your hands and passed down in your family for years to come.
A Family Effort
This has never been a one-person project. From the very first sketches to the ongoing supplier negotiations, this has been a family effort, each of us contributing our part to keep the process moving forward, patiently, faithfully, and together. We believe that spirit is woven into the piece itself, and we hope you'll feel it too when you finally hold one.
